Meet Jay Venning, Owner/Operator: West Kootenay Arborist is led by owner/operator Jay Venning, a seasoned professional in the arboriculture industry. With ten years of experience, Jay's journey in tree work began during a working holiday visa in Australia at the age of 23. He obtained essential qualifications in climbing, aerial rescue, chainsaw operation, and bucking/falling in the UK and later expanded his expertise while working in the picturesque Margaret River region of Western Australia for three years. Jay further honed his skills in countries such as New Zealand and Norway before settling in Canada in 2019. Following his passion, Jay spent a year working on Vancouver's North Shore before finally establishing West Kootenay Arborist in Nelson, B.C., alongside his long-term Canadian partner, Becca.
